Cocoanut Grove, the 1938 Alfred Santell Boston Massachusetts all-star nightclub romantic musical ("Original Story and Screen Play by Sy Bartlett & Olive Cooper"; there is very little plot in this Paramount all-star musical, and it is mostly a series of production numbers; even though it takes place in the famous Cocoanut Grove nightclub, it was actually all filmed on a Paramount back lot) starring Fred MacMurray, Harriet Hilliard, the Yacht Club Boys, Ben Blue, Rufe Davis, Billy Lee, Eve Arden, Virginia Vale (billed as "Dorothy Howe"), and Harry Owens and his Royal Hawaiian Orchestra. Note that the famous real-life nightclub burned to the ground in 1942 killing 492 people, including some celebrities, in one of the worst structure fires in U.S. history.

Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: good. There is a diagonal crack in the top right corner, but it is solely in the blank border. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass.
