An Original Vintage Folded English World War II Poster (measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) ABCA (Army Bureau of Current Affairs) was an English organization within the British Army from 1940 to the present. The organization was set up to educate, raise morale, and promote discussion among British soldiers during World War II. ABCA was started by Henry Croft and Thomas Jones, and was ran by William Emrys Williams for the duration of the war. For this role, he became known as ABCA Bill. ABCA rapidly expanded resulting in photographic display, newspaper articles, pamphlets, and an "Anglo-Americans Brain Trust". After the war, ABCA was transformed into the Bureau of Current Affairs and continued their activities during peacetime. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that there is a different image on each side of the poster. One side has a map and details of the war effort and the other side has information related to the Indian Army (see our images). We have NEVER before auctioned this poster! Note also also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has slight discoloration scattered throughout the poster (see our image). This is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that much or most of the slight discoloration can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
