An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures 13" x 27") (Learn More) Reprisal!, the 1956 George Sherman Native American Indian lynching melodrama ("The night the town went hunting... WITH A ROPE!"; "'He couldn't have done it... ...he was with me last night - all night!'"; "You're in trouble mister... Right up to your neck!..."; "...you made one mistake - you wanted to live your own life, with your own woman, in a town where you had to join the pack - or else. And now the mob with the rope is coming for you!"; "A hanging tree at one end of town... and a wanton girl in jeopardy at the other..."; "Out of a best-seller... Startling screen drama!"; "A best-seller lashes new paths of fury across the screen!"; "From the Novel by Arthur Gordon"; a wild story of a "half-breed", half Native American and half white, man who "passes" for white because Native Americans couldn't own a ranch, but when local men find out about it, they lynch his white wife, and he sets out to get revenge by killing the men responsible) starring Guy Madison, Felicia Farr, Kathryn Grant, Michael Pate, Edward Platt, and Otto Hulett. Note that the original source novel (which was based on a real case in then modern day Georgia) involved a black man whose white wife was lynched and he sought revenge. Apparently, this was too controversial for Hollywood, and the story was shifted in time and place to Oklahoma in the Old West, and the lead character became a "half-breed" Native American! We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases.
