An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14" x 21 1/4") (Learn More) Dragon Seed, the 1944 Harold S. Bucquet & Jack Conway Asian China Japanese-invasion-of-a-Chinese-village melodrama ("MGM's immortal production of the great novel 'Dragon Seed'"; "Based on the novel by Pearl S. Buck") starring Katharine Hepburn, Walter Huston, Aline MacMahon (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Akim Tamiroff, Turhan Bey, Hurd Hatfield, and Frances Rafferty. Note that all of the main cast members were non-Asians and performed in "yellowface" makeup to portray Chinese and Japanese characters. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this Belgian poster is printed on the back of a map (typical of Belgian posters printed during or right after World War II, due to massive paper shortage). I don't know when this poster dates from, and it could be anywhere from 1944 through the late 1940s. But it is almost surely from the first Belgian release. Also note that the poster has masking tape on the back of the left and right borders and the tape extends off the edge of the poster (but it could be easily trimmed off). There is also tape on the front of the bottom border. Also note that this Belgian poster measures 14" x 21 1/4" and that it was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good.
