An Unfolded Danish Travel Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 39 1/4" [62 x 100 cm]) (Learn More)

Wonderful Copenhagen, the 1958 Danish travel poster used to promote tourism in Copenhagen, Denmark and featuring art of a crowd of people smiling as ducks cross the road by Viggo Vagnby. Note that there are different versions of this poster (we have seen 1958 and 1961 so far). The main difference between the versions seems to be the clothing and some poses among the crowd in the background!

Artist: Viggo Vagnby

Condition: good. There is a very large tear at upper center that extends to the art of the woman in the blue dress (see our image). There is some paper loss at upper center next to the tear and there are some lesser tears around the edges (a few, including the large tear, are repaired with tape from the back.) Fortunately the paper loss is in an area of blank paper, and after linenbacking with some restoration the poster would look great (but of course bear in mind the cost of restoration before placing a bid).
