A 1952 Realart Re-Release (re-titled "Wild Jungle Captive" for this re-release) Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

Jungle Captive, the 1945 Harold Young Universal horror thriller ("Half Woman... Half Beast... In A Naked Jungle!" "Weird! Shocking! Primitive!"; "Ravishing beauty... Raging beast fury of the naked jungle!"; "She-monster... loving to kill!"; "Original Story by Dwight V. Babcock") starring Otto Kruger, Phil Brown, Amelita Ward, Jerome Cowan, Vicky Lane ("as the Ape Woman"), and Rondo Hatton ("as Moloch, the Brute"). Note that Rondo Hatton was afflicted with acromegaly, which is a chronic disease marked by enlargement of the bones of the extremities, face, and jaw. Hollywood saw in Hatton the chance to make money by exploiting the way the disease had distorted his features, and for several years prior to his death, he was a villain in several Universal horror movies.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this 1952 Realart re-release half-sheet, and only one in the last 21 years! Also note that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets).

Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. There are tears at left and right that have been repaired with tape from the back, and there is some tiny paper loss at upper left that is completely covered in tape. One tear at left slightly enters the image area but otherwise the image area is in pretty nice condition!
