An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) A Farewell to Arms, the 1932 Frank Borzage World War I (WWI) military romantic melodrama ("Here is Ernest Hemingway's greatest Novel!"; "Unforgettable story of an undaunted love"; "A great book! A greater picture!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway; about an American ambulance driver and an English nurse falling in love in France during World War I) starring Helen Hayes, Gary Cooper, Adolphe Menjou, Jack La Rue, and Mary Philips. Note that in 1951, Warner Bros. updated the story to World War II, and did not pay for the rights, so the movie was called "A Force of Arms". In 1957, it was remade under the original title with Rock Hudson and Jennifer Jones. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
