An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Other Company One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Fools for Scandal, the 1938 Bobby Connolly & Mervyn LeRoy romantic love triangle musical comedy ("The merriest romance you've ever seen!"; "Its Grand! It's A Riot!"; "From the play 'Return Engagement' by Nancy Hamilton, James Shute, and Rose Mary Casey"; "Music and Lyrics by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart"; about a female movie star who meets a broke French nobleman, who poses as a butler and gets her to hire him, wanting to seduce her and then get her money, but of course, they end up falling in love, and as usual, Ralph Bellamy plays a nice guy who loves the star, but loses her!) starring Carole Lombard, Fernand Gravey (billed as "Fernand Gravet"), Ralph Bellamy, Allen Jenkins, Isabel Jeans, Marie Wilson, and Marcia Ralston NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this was printed by the "other company". This was a company in the Midwest that from roughly 1936 to roughly 1941 printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts and half-sheets) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They never have the name of the releasing studio on the poster or any of the lobby cards. Sometimes, "other company" posters or lobby cards have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters or lobby cards! Condition: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, smudges, and tiny tears on several foldlines. There was a 1" x 3" piece of tape on the back of the top and bottom crossfolds. The borders had creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the restoration along the foldlines. Learn More about condition grades
