Date Sold 7/2/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Lone Star Ranger, the 1919 J. Gordon Edwards silent Texas Rangers cowboy western ("Zane Grey's Dramatic Story"; "A Romance of the Great Southwest"; based on the novel by Zane Grey) starring William Farnum, Louise Lovely, G. Raymond Nye, Charles Clary, Lamar Johnstone, and Fred Herzog. Note that this movie was based on a much loved Zane Grey novel (which was a sort of "prequel" to another much loved Grey novel, "The Last of the Duanes"), and there were several different film adaptations of both novels! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that any movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned anything other than a one-sheet (31 years ago) and some lobby cards from this movie until we received this glass slide! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
