An Original Vintage Unfolded Advertising Poster Poster (measures 20 3/4" x 26 3/4" [53 x 68 cm]) (Learn More) Journal Amateur Snapshot Contest, the circa 1930s advertisement for an amateur photography contest held by The Journal, likely a newspaper, but we don't know where it was located (but it must have been major, to give out $10,000 in prizes!). The poster is undated, but it was found in a group of posters, and one of them is definitely from 1936, so it seems quite likely this dates from that time. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: UPDATED 04/19/2011: Note that this item is printed on a window card-like paper stock. Condition: good. There is staining and nail holes around the edges of the poster and some scattered throughout. It appears that it is possible that the poster was slightly trimmed, but we don't know, because we don't know of a reference of a larger one (if it was trimmed, only blank white borders were affected). Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored! Learn More about condition grades
