eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 2f335 MARCH ON ROME WC 1934 romantic story by Italian Fascist Benito Mussolini, Man of Courage, rare! Date Sold 12/4/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 20" [36 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) The March on Rome, the 1934 Italian movie ("A beautiful romantic story by Benito Mussolini"; "Adapted from Camicia Nera"; "Man of courage"; "Italy's 2,000,000 production") that apparently played in New York City in 1934 at the Gaiety Theatre. We did a lot of research and came up empty (except that Mussolini only wrote two plays, Villafranca, which may be this one, and Hundert Tage)! It appears this was an Italian movie (produced in Rome by LUCE) written by their Fascist leader, Benito Mussolini, which played in New York City at one theater only (in an "American version", which might mean subtitled, or it could mean that it was re-cut), and supposedly it was a $2,000,000 production! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that not only have we never auctioned this window card, but we have never auctioned any sort of movie paper item from this before! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 20" [36 x 51 cm]. Condition: good. The bottom 2" was trimmed off, so we don't know what is missing, but it might be something unrelated to this movie (we have never auctioned another example, so we have nothing to compare it to). There are also small stains and tiny bits of paper loss around the edges, with a 2" tear in the left border. Learn More about condition grades
