There were multiple recruitment posters of this design and each featured different full color artwork. Note that the U.S. Marine Corps was founded in 1775 as the "fighting branch" of the U.S. Navy. Most people think of the Marines are a completely separate branch of the military, but actually, they are still closely tied to the Navy (although many Marines don't like to think about that)! Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had some small areas of paper loss scattered down the right border, with paper loss in the bottom right corner, going close to the blue border, but solely blank paper. It had tears and paper loss in the bottom center, with a tear extending up into the "G" of "RECRUITING". It had a lesser amount of tears and paper loss scattered down the left blank border.
