An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) L Homme au Chapeau de Soie (released in the U.S. as "Man in the Silk Hat"), the 1983 Maud Linder French biographical documentary (of the famous French silent film actor Max Linder) starring Max Linder and narrated by Maud Linder. Max Linder was the first great French silent comedian (he wore a trademark top hat and gloves and carried a cane), and he predated Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. Note that Maud Linder is Max Linder's only child. Bizarrely, both of her parents committed suicide in 1925 when she was one year old, and she was raised by her grandparents, and did not know anything about her parents until she was much older, at which point she wrote a book and made two documentaries about her parents (she discovered that her father had entered the military in World War I at the height of his career, but that he had been exposed to mustard gas during the war, and that gave him massive health problems, and largely ended his film career, and led to his forming his suicide pact with his wife).
