An Original Vintage 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Television Still (Learn More) Gidget, the 1965 - 1966 Frederick Kohner television (TV) teen surfing sports romantic comedy series starring Sally Field (in the title role as Frances Elizabeth 'Gidget' Lawrence), Don Porter, Lynette Winter, Pete Duel, Betty Conner, Michael Nader, and Stephen Mines. Note that in the pilot episode for this show, Gidget had a boyfriend played by Steve Mines. Apparently, he was either not well received or was unavailable for future episodes, because in the second episode, she had a new boyfriend, played by Pete Duel. Mines returned halfway through the season in a single episode (explaining he had been away), but that was his only other appearance! The entire series only lasted one season.
