An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) The Last Outlaw, the 1927 Arthur Rosson silent cowboy western ("Story by Richard Allen Gates"; Gary Cooper is a sheriff in a tough town, and he has to hunt down a wanted outlaw, and unfortunately, the outlaw is the brother of the girl he wants to marry) starring Gary Cooper, Jack Luden, Betty Jewel, Herbert Prior, Jim Corey, and Billy Butts NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an incredibly rare poster, which we have never auctioned before! Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Also note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thinner paper backing, it COULD be sent rolled, but we would MUCH prefer to send it in a large flat package (because we fear that rolling it, even into a wide tube, would have an excellent change of damaging it, so we will only send it in a tube if the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage), but otherwise, we will ship it in a large flat package, so bear that expense in mind before bidding on this poster. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster was folded down the middle, and it also had many creases, smudges, and stains scattered throughout, including in Cooper's face. There were tears and areas of paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Obviously, one would prefer to find a better example of this poster, but since this is the only example of it we have ever seen, one might wait a VERY long time before finding any other example of it!
