A Matted Original Vintage Theatrical 9" x 10 3/4" [23 x 27 cm] Movie Still (entire display measures 15" x 20") (Learn More) Helen Gahagan was a Broadway actress from the 1920s to the 1950s. She only starred in one movie, "She" in 1935. She married to Melvyn Douglas, and afterwards, she became Helen Gahagan Douglas, and later became a two-term member of the House of Representatives. She ran for Senator against Richard Nixon, but lost, but she did get even with him by popularizing his nickname, "Tricky Dick"! She passed away in 1980 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that our consignor purchased this from a Profiles in History auction, and that auction said this still "came directly from Ernest Bachrach's personal archive and that it was his own exhibition print". Note that the still itself measures 9" x 10 3/4" [23 x 27 cm] and it was glued to a 15" x 20" mat (this is how Bachrach had it, and how he displayed it). Condition: very good to fine.
