Artist: Howard Terpning Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this British quad, which is a "country of origin" poster for this English movie, and the last one was 13 years ago! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tears and tiny paper loss in the bottom half of the left vertical fold and in the left 8" of the horizontal fold, with a lesser amount of wear on the other folds and very minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but there is a small area in the upper right, where the poster is very slightly "lifting" from the linen. It is not very noticeable at all, and certainly, any restorer could fix that without re-backing the poster, or it could be simply ignored. Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
