An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Name the Man!, the 1924 Victor Sjostrom (billed as "Victor Seastrom") silent romantic love triangle legal courtroom abortion melodrama ("Victor Seastrom's production of Sir Hall Caine's novel"; "Adapted from 'The Master of Man' by Sir Hall Caine"; "Screen Adaptation by Paul Bern"; "Was she to blame?"; set on the Isle of Man, which is located between England and Ireland; about a "deemster", which is a judge there, and he is engaged to one woman, but he has an affair with another, which gets her pregnant, but no one knows, and when she has an abortion, she is put on trial for killing the baby, and she is condemned by the man who got her pregnant, but he helps her to escape from the island, and he confesses what he did, and he is sent to jail, but when his sentence is up, he is able to marry his very patient fiancee) starring Mae Busch, Conrad Nagel, Patsy Ruth Miller, Hobart Bosworth, Aileen Pringle, and Creighton Hale. Note that director Victor Sjostrom was a famous Swedish director who came out of retirement to star in Ingmar Bergman's "Wild Strawberries". Note that the screenplay for this movie was written by Paul Bern, who, in one of Hollywood's most bizarre episodes ever (which is saying a lot!), married the much young Jean Harlow in 1932 and then shot himself after their honeymoon, apologizing for "a frightful wrong" in a suicide note! It has been rumored that he was actually murdered, and the suicide was a coverup by MGM "fixers"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: fair. The card was folded down the center and there is darkening on that fold, and tape on the back of the fold. There is a large water stain at lower right, and three areas of paper loss in the borders.
