An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #5 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Damon Runyon's Sorrowful Jones, the 1949 Sidney Lanfield horse racing sports gambling comedy ("Foreward narrated by Walter Winchell"; "Funnier than 'The Paleface'!"; "Adapted from a story by Damon Runyon") starring Bob Hope (in the title role as Humphrey 'Sorrowful' Jones), Lucille Ball, William Demarest, Bruce Cabot, Thomas Gomez, and Mary Jane Saunders (billed as "Introducing Mary Jane Saunders"). Note that this movie was based on a Damon Runyon short story called "Markie", about a little girl who is given as a "marker" on a gambling debt, and there had previously been a 1934 version of this movie called "Little Miss Marker" starring Shirley Temple, and that it was remade twice again after this version, in 1962 as "40 Pounds of Trouble" and 1980 as "Little Miss Marker"!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.

Condition: good to very good. There is marker writing on the back of the center of the card that has slightly bled through in the center of the image, but it is not very distracting. There is a 1" tear in the left of the bottom border. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
