An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded English Six-Sheet Stage Play Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More)

Cinderella, the circa 1930s English stage play production. The quad poster features cool artwork of a beautiful Cinderella next to her ugly stepmother and stepsister and the three-sheet has artwork of Cinderella and the Prince! A collector from England tells us he believes that this poster (and the other English stage play posters from other classic fairy tales) were used for local Christmas pantomimes (that were very professional productions) that were held all over England for many years. Most of the posters were produced by Taylors of Wombwell from 1929 to the late 1930s (but it seems likely that the posters we are auctioning date from the late 1930s). It was quite common in those pantomimes for women to play boys' roles, and for men to play the roles of unlikeable women (like witches and mean old ladies!). If anyone knows more about this play or this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that we have never seen this poster before! We have previously auctioned a completely different style of stage play six-sheet (which shows a sad pre-transformation Cinderella by herself), while this poster shows her after the transformation! Also note that this English six-sheet was printed in 6 sections designed to overlap.

Condition: good to very good. There are some tears on parts of the foldlines and in the borders, and someone put tape on the back of some of the tears.
