Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had two very major defects. There was a thin strip at the bottom of the poster that was missing (this had the very bottom of the small credits) Otherwise, the poster had fairly minor fold and border wear, and other than the missing piece at the bottom, the poster was in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, and someone painted a thin strip along the bottom border to create the illusion of a bottom blank border. But after it was backed, it suffered significant water staining in the bottom center, which has badly stained that area and caused it to come loose from the linen backing (and there is also water staining on scattered on the back of the rest of the linen, but it has almost no effect on the rest of the poster). Both of these are MAJOR defects, so bear this in mind before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
