An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 26 1/4" x 39 3/4" [67 x 101 cm]) (Learn More) Two Moons, the 1920 Edward J. Le Saint silent Wyoming cattle feud cowboy western ("Story by Robert Welles Ritchie") starring Buck Jones, Carol Holloway, Bert Sprotte, Edward Peil Sr., Edwin B. Tilton, Gus Saville, and Slim Padgett. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1920 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned three lobby cards from this movie until we received this one-sheet! Also note that this one-sheet has been trimmed and it now measures 26 1/4" x 39 3/4" [67 x 101 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster surely originally measured 28" x 42", and someone trimmed a significant amount of each blank border, so that it now measures 26 1/4" x 39 3/4", but only blank white paper was affected. The poster had a dime-sized area of paper loss at the bottom crossfold and small paper loss at the top crossfold. There were small tears and creases scattered down the top quarter of the vertical fold, including in the woman's face. There was some tiny paper loss on parts of the rest of the folds. It had some tears and tiny paper loss in parts of the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects, and the restorer did not replace the missing parts of the blank borders, no doubt realizing there was no point in doing so.
