An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Stolen Holiday, the 1937 Michael Curtiz romantic love triangle politics blackmail scandal melodrama ("Once to every woman comes a love like this!"; very loosely based on the real life Stavisky affair, a French political scandal of the 1930s, involving a con man who worked his way into high French political circles, and his wife, who falls in love with a government official; in real life, the man at the center of the scandal committed suicide, but that was considered inappropriate for the movie, so his character was murdered!) starring Kay Francis, Claude Rains, Ian Hunter, Alison Skipworth, and Alexander D'Arcy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the snipe says that Kay Francis is drinking a toast "to romance", and that she is "looking her lovliest in a frock of silver lame with matching turban and jewelry of lustrous pearls". Also note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front. This was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby (and of course, the snipe would be folded backwards, so it would not show). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILL! Condition: fine. Learn More about condition grades
