An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

Paid to Love, the 1927 Howard Hawks silent romantic royalty comedy ("A Paris girl whose beauty rocked a kingdom."; "Story by Harry Carr"; about an American banker who goes to a Balkan country to help them set up a banking system; once there, he meets the unmarried crown prince, and he takes him to a cafe, where he falls for a sexy Apache dancer, and ultimately, she is made a duchess, so she can marry the prince) starring George O'Brien, Virginia Valli, J. Farrell MacDonald, William Powell, and Thomas Jefferson. Note that this was the fourth movie that Howard Hawks ever directed, and of course, he would go on to one of the most illustrious directing careers ever!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that first release 1927 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only auctioned two lobby cards from this movie (but no posters) until we received this window card! Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded.

Condition: good. The card is fragile. It has light water staining scattered in the bottom, extending into the bottom of the credits. It has a 2" tear in the upper left border and a 5" tear in the bottom center. It has a pinhole in each corner and some stains and tiny paper loss and surface paper loss around the edges. Since most of the defects are in the borders, and since the staining can likely be removed chemically, this card will look great after proper restoration, but bear in mind its defects (and the fact that it is extremely fragile) before placing a bid on it.
