Horrifying!"; "The greatest fear figures in screen history... all in Universal's New cavalcade of horror!"; the third Universal "Frankenstein" movie) starring Basil Rathbone (in the title role as the original Dr. Frankenstein's son), Boris Karloff (in the title role as the Frankenstein monster), Bela Lugosi (as Ygor), Lionel Atwill, Josephine Hutchinson, and Donnie Dunagan (as Peter von Frankenstein) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Mahmut Yagci Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned five examples of this Turkish poster, but the last one was 9 years ago! Note that this poster is undated. We are listing it under the original release date of 1939 (the IMDb says that the movie played in Turkey in 1939), but it seems quite possible it could have been released at a later date (although it is clearly a vintage poster and it seems likely that it would date from the 1940s at the latest). If anyone knows more about exactly when this poster is from, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. There is approximately 1/4" of paper loss at the bottom crossfold in the woman's hair and there is tiny paper loss at the crossfold at center. There are some very light stains along the foldlines and around the edges of the poster, but they are not very noticeable or distracting. There are minor creases along the foldlines and edges of the poster and there are a few 3/8" and smaller tears around the edges. Overall, the poster is in pretty nice condition and I imagine most collectors would be quite happy to display it as it is, but if one chose to have it restored it would look fantastic!
