An Original 1947 Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Noel Coward's This Happy Breed (released in the U.S. in 1947), the 1944 David Lean English family relationship between-the-wars melodrama ("The quiet immense courage of one family's life"; "A sweeping panorama of living"; written by Noel Coward; about two couples who move into nice houses in an English suburb after World War I, and about what occurs in their lives between that time and the start of World War II) starring Celia Johnson ("Brief Encounter"), Robert Newton ("Odd Man Out"), John Mills ("Great Expectations"), Kay Walsh ("Brief Encounter"), and Stanley Holloway. Note that to no one's surprise, this movie, which combined the talents of Noel Coward, David Lean, and some of the finest English actors of that time, was superlative, but sadly, it is almost completely forgotten today, except by major film buffs. The poster had small tears and small areas of paper loss along parts of several folds, including some paper loss within both men's faces. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
