An Original 1966 Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11" x 17" [28 x 43 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) A Study In Terror, the 1965 (released in the U.S. in 1966) James Hill English detective crime mystery horror thriller ("Spell it with excitement - the name is... Sherlock Holmes"; "Sherlock Holmes meets Jack the Ripper!"; "Sherlock Holmes is back... and Jack the Ripper's got'im!"; "Here comes the original caped crusader!"; "Elementary, my dear Watson..."; "Fly Away Batman! Here comes the original camp-counselor in a cape..."; "Holy Terror! It's Sherlock Holmes! He meets his match in Jack the Ripper!"; "Based on the characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle"; "Pow! Biff! Bang! Aiee! Crunch!"; about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson joining the hunt for the notorious serial killer, Jack the Ripper) starring John Neville (as Sherlock Holmes), Donald Houston (as Dr. Watson), John Fraser, Anthony Quayle (as Doctor Murray, who is revealed to be Jack the Ripper!), Barbara Windsor, Adrienne Corri, Robert Morley (billed as "Special Guest Star Robert Morley"), Georgia Brown (billed as "introducing Georgia Brown"), Barry Jones, Cecil Parker, and Edina Ronay. Note that this English movie was released in the U.S. at the height of the TV "Batman" craze, and the U.S. advertising for this movie has a lot of really silly advertising promoting Sherlock Holmes as "the original caped crusader"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It is folded across the middle, and there are faint brown water stains scattered on the covers. The interior pages are in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
