Stirring! Spectacular!"; "Based upon the novel by Walter D. Edmonds"; William Faulkner made uncredited contributions to the screenplay; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck; about a couple living in pre-Revolutionary War upstate New York, and how they must adjust to the difficulties of pioneer life, especially the wife, who grew up wealthy and in a big city) starring Claudette Colbert, Henry Fonda, Edna May Oliver (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Eddie Collins, Dorris Bowdon, John Carradine, Jessie Ralph, Arthur Shields, Robert Lowery, Roger Imhof, Francis Ford, and Ward Bond NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that on this classic movie, and on several other major releases of the 1930s and 1940s, 20th Century Fox issued two entirely different sets of lobby cards! One set was the kind that is regularly seen. The other kind was a "photolobby" set with glossier color scenes from the movie, most often entirely different from the other set, and sometimes the photolobbies were black and white photos that had been hand-colored prior to production. The photolobbies are at least as rare as the regular lobby cards! UPDATED 12/06/2010: Note that we had a conversation with an expert on 20th Century Fox movie paper, and he tells us that it is his belief that 20th Century Fox made 2 kinds of photolobbies. The kind that says "color-glos" were made in addition to the regular lobby card set, but the ones that don't say "color-glos" were the ONLY lobby cards made for that movie. So in the case of THIS movie, the photolobby offered here would have been from the ONLY lobby card set made for this movie. Condition: good to very good. Note that this photolobby is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card! Learn More about condition grades
