An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked English Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 39 3/4" x 87 1/4" [101 x 222 cm]) (Learn More) The Chain Invisible, the 1916 Frank Powell silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("A photoplay of mystery and love by the world famous poet Richard Le Gallienne"; a really crazy story of a lumberjack who falls madly in love with a society woman, and he kidnaps her even though she is engaged, and takes her to a desert island, where she grows to love him; but her fiance manages to find her and rescues her, telling her that the lumberjack was killed; but the lumberjack makes it back to civilization, where he finds that she has married the fiance, but when the fiance sees that the lumberjack survived, he kills himself, which allows them to return to their desert island where they have true love) starring Bruce McRae, Gerda Holmes, Alfred Hickman, Tom McGrath, and Lillian Paige. Note that the producers of this early silent needed a location that could provide both city and "desert island" locations, and they filmed it in Cuba! Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had tears and small areas of paper loss on parts of the foldlines and around the edges. It had darkened. Someone backed it onto linen with only slight restoration. At some point after it was backed, it acquired water staining scattered down the bottom third of the right border, some in the excess linen and some in the poster itself. Also, someone attached the poster to a wall using some sort of rubber cement on the back of the top and bottom border of the linen, and there is much dried rubber cement on the back of the top and bottom (but it is on the back of the linen and does not affect the poster). Certainly, this poster should be removed from the old linen and re-backed, so bear that in mind before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
