A Linenbacked Danish Travel Poster (measures 24 3/4" x 39 1/4" [63 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) SAS: South Africa, the 1950s Danish airplane airline aviation travel poster ("South Africa by SAS") designed to promote tourism in South Africa via Scandinavian Airlines System, and featuring Otto Nielsen artwork of a South African woman with clay jars and bowls with an airplane flying overhead Artist: Otto Nielsen Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a diagonal tear in the top right that extended into the top of the lady's hat, with a smaller tear next to it going through the second "S" of "SAS". It had a 14" tear in the right of the bottom border, with some other tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
