Gordon Edwards silent Biblical historical romantic betrayal melodrama ("The seductress who sowed sin in ancient Galilee, whose tempestuous blood has traced a scarlet thread through the centuries"; "A Theda Bara Super Production"; based on the Biblical story of Salome, King Herod, and John the Baptist) starring Theda Bara ("Siren supreme of the screen"; in the title role as Salome), G. Raymond Nye (as King Herod), Alan Roscoe (as John the Baptist), Herbert Hayes, and Bertram Grassby. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: fine. This poster appears to be in wonderful condition! Most of the poster did survive these past 84 years in surprisingly good condition (there were some clean tears which were expertly mended and are extremely difficult to see even from an 1" away). But . Most of the linenbacked posters we sell were restored by the finest professionals. An expertly linenbacked poster will often appear "mint", as its defects have been made to "vanish". We are the only seller we are aware of who always tries to describe the condition of the poster prior to being linenbacked, so you are fully aware of what restoration was performed.
