Glamour!"; based on the classic book of the same name by L. Frank Baum; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Judy Garland (as Dorothy), Frank Morgan (in the title role as The Wizard of Oz!), Ray Bolger (as The Scarecrow), Bert Lahr (as The Cowardly Lion), Jack Haley (as The Tin Man), Billie Burke (as Glinda, the Good Witch), Margaret Hamilton (as the Wicked Witch), Charley Grapewin, "The Munchkins", and Toto too! Note that MGM was worried about how well this movie would do at the box office, and they did something we don't remember seeing on any other major movie advertising! One of the taglines says "Biggest sensation since Snow White", which means MGM was advertising a Walt Disney movie, but that shows just how worried they were! Of course, they needn't have worried, because this was a timeless classic that has only improved with age. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that original 1939 Wizard of Oz lobby cards were printed with a red color in the border background area and in the bottom studio credit that fades extremely easily. A high percentage of the cards that exist have either a pink color in those areas, and other cards have orange in those areas. This card has the red that the card was originally printed with, which is a big plus! Condition: good to very good. The card was "starch backed", which means that it was moistened with a special starch solution, attached to a backing, allowed to dry, and then the card had touch up while it was backed, and afterward, the backing was removed. This particular card had a water stain in the bottom right corner, slightly entering the bottom of the "Z" of "OZ", and a circular stain in the bottom left corner, slightly extending into the bottom of the "W" of "WIZARD" and the "E" of "THE". There were a few faint smudges and stains around the edges of the card. There were a few very tiny pinholes around the edges and one near the exact center of the card. The card was starch backed by a talented professional and expert restoration was performed to the above defects (but they left alone the slight staining in the left of the "W" of "WIZARD" and the staining in the bottom of the "Z" of "OZ"). The card displays great, and it has had pretty minor touch up, and best of all, it still completely looks and feels like an unrestored lobby card! Learn More about condition grades
