An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny, the 1972 Barry Mahon surreal holiday fantasy ("The Amazing Story of Santa In Big Trouble... And His Exciting Rescue By The Daring Ice Cream Bunny... It's Breath-taking, Fun For All."; "Matinees only!.. Saturday and Sunday!"; "ALL NEW!") starring Jay Ripley, Shay Gardner, Pat Morrell, Bob O'Connell, and Ruth McMahon. Is it just me or does Santa on the poster art look kind of demented, and the Ice Cream Bunny look kind of dazed and confused? Note that director Barry Mahon had a fascinating life that could fill several movies! He was an American pilot for England in World War II and he was shot down and put in a POW camp, and he escaped and was the basis for the Steve McQueen character in the movie "The Great Escape" (Mahon also loved motorcycles). He became Errol Flynn's pilot and later Errol Flynn's manager. He then made many sexploitation "nudie cuties" movies in the 1950s and 1960s, but at the end of his career, he made a drastic shift, and made several children's movies (perhaps he found religion?). You can click on his name for a more complete version of this biography of his life. If anyone knows more about this movie or Mahon's drastic career changes, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fine. There are very minor creases along the foldlines and around the edges of the poster, but overall, the poster is in really nice condition, without a single pinholes, and it is completely unrestored!
