An Undated (probably 1930s) Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Texas Gun Fighter, the 1932 Phil Rosen cowboy western ("Recorded by RCA PHOTOPHONE") starring Ken Maynard, Tarzan (billed as "with his famous horse 'Tarzan'"), Sheila Bromley, Harry Woods, Lloyd Ingraham, and Jim Mason. Note that the IMDb says that the title of this movie is "Texas Gun Fighter", but the first release movie posters have "Texas Gun-Fighter" (and we suppose it might also be known as "Texas Gunfighter"). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a mid-1930s re-release of this 1932 western. The original 1932 poster was full-color and released by Tiffany Pictures. This mid-1930s re-release was released by Spectrum Pictures. They used the same printing plates, but only used two colors for this poster, but it is one of the nicer two-color posters I have ever seen! Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, and small paper loss 1" to the left of the middle crossfold. There was paper loss in the top left corner under the "P" of "SPECTRUM". There was a 3" diagonal tear in the right of the top border extending into the yellow background. There were creases, tears, and tiny paper loss in the top 1/4 of the vertical foldline, and some tiny tears and tiny paper loss in the top foldline. There were creases, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. The person who did the restoration put new blank white paper over all the borders to even out the appearance (but the small writing at the bottom of the poster was not covered over). This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only blank white area). Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well. Learn More about condition grades
