Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Chain Lightning, the 1927 Lambert Hillyer silent romantic cowboy western ("A Blue Streak of Action" "Story by Charles Alden Seltzer"; about a cowboy who has his herd of purebred horses stolen, and he must track down the rustlers who stole them, with the help of a pretty blonde) starring Buck Jones, Dione Ellis, Ted McNamara, Jack Baston, and William Welsh. Note that this movie was a remake of an earlier Fox movie starring William Farnum, and that female lead Diane Ellis (apparently she was billed as "Dione" to make her seem more exotic) went on her honeymoon in India in 1930 and caught a tropical disease and died, thus ending her promising career! Also note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. the poster was linenbacked; prior to restoration the poster had tape stains and some paper loss in the top 6" of the left blank border; there were stains in the "B" and "U" of "BUCK" and some minor smudges throughout the image; there were tiny holes at the crossfolds and some tiny tears and creases on the lower half of the vertical foldline; the person who restored the poster put new paper over the damaged area at the top of the left blank border (it was very expertly done and most people would not realize it unless it was specifically shown to them); the minor defects in the image area were very well restored; you can see traces of them from close up, but from any distance away they are not noticeable or distracting and the poster looks quite nice!
