Van Dyke New York City Manhattan juvenile rich-kid/poor-kid gang crime comedy ("The man who made 'San Francisco'"; "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's greatest human drama!"; about a wealthy English boy in New York City who is put in a school with gang members, and they recruit him into their gang, and he goes along because he wants to fit in) starring Freddie Bartholomew, Jackie Cooper, Mickey Rooney, Ian Hunter, Peggy Conklin, Katharine Alexander, Gene Lockhart, and Kathleen Lockhart. Note that this was the only movie in which all three great juvenile stars of the middle 1930s appeared together! Also note that Kathleen Lockhart was the wife of Gene Lockhart, and she appeared in 40 movies between 1933 and 1957, when her husband died, and she retired. She is the mother of June Lockhart. Some of these items can ONLY be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. On some of them (for example if it is a size that might ordinarily be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet), the reason it is in this auction is specifically because we feel it either CAN'T be rolled or because we feel it would be a mistake to roll it, because it might well damage the item. In the case of the few items that could be rolled, we will roll the item in a tube if the new owner insists, but only if they accept that they can't return the item if it is damaged from being rolled. So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. Condition: poor to fair. The poster has slight discoloration scattered throughout from exposure to moisture. There is some paper loss around the edges (mostly at upper right ) and there is an ink pad stamp at upper right. There is surface paper loss in Rooney's face and nose at lower center, and someone touched up those areas (see our image). Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
