An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Carl Laemmle Sr. was a legendary German-born entrepreneur who founded Universal Pictures in 1915, and was responsible for the many of the great successes that studio had in the 1920s. He brought his son, Carl Laemmle, Jr., into the business, By the 1930s, his son gained control of the studio. But he spent too much money on too many movies, and the studio was in rocky financial shape, and in the mid 1930s, the board of directors forced both father and son out of the studio, and neither made another movie! Laemmle Sr. passed away in 1939 at the age of 72. Important Added Info: Note that the still shows a great candid image of "President of Universal", Carl Laemmle, his son, Carl Laemmle Jr. "Associate Producer", and Dr. William K. Marston, "noted Psychologist", "who has signed a contract with Universal to work out psychological problems of picture making". Apparently, the Laemmles basically hired an on-staff psychologist to deal with their stars' many mental issues! Note that there is information about the still printed on the back. Condition: very good. There is tiny paper loss in the top blank corners and paper loss in the bottom right blank corner. Otherwise, the still is in quite nice condition!
