An Autographed Lunch Receipt (measures 3 1/2" x 5 1/2"; contained in a 5" x 7" hard plastic case) (Learn More) Montgomery Clift (born Edward Montgomery Clift) was an actor from the 1940s to the 1960s. He started as a Broadway actor in 1935 at the age of 15, and he spent 13 years on Broadway before making his first movie in 1948. Some of his movies include: The Search (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film); The Misfits, Red River, From Here to Eternity, and Judgment At Nuremberg (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film). Sadly, during filming of 1957's Raintree County, Montgomery Clift was in a horrific car accident after leaving Elizabeth Taylor's house one evening (she and Rock Hudson reportedly pulled him from the car wreck, and she saved him from choking on his own teeth!). Sadly, in spite of several surgeries to his face, Clift's injuries were visible, and his health deteriorated after the crash, and he passed away in 1966 at the age of 45. Important Added Info: Note that this lunch receipt has been personally autographed (signed) by Montgomery Clift. Note that our consignor purchased this from Al Morley, a major Hollywood, California autograph collector. We don't have a certificate of authenticity, but our consignor believes that Mr. Morley would never have sold him an autograph that was not genuine. It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display! Condition: very good. The receipt is screwed between two sheets of Plexiglas (see our image).
