Stahl World War II (WWII) military romantic melodrama ("The love story of G.I. Joe"; based on the play by Maxwell Anderson; about young lovers who are separated when the boy is drafted into World War II, and he is on an island in the Philippines, and the only thing that keeps him going is the letters from his girlfriend; interestingly, the movie ended without the young soldier returning home, reflective of the fact that World War II was still being fought, and that hundreds of thousands of similar young men were not yet able to come home either) starring Anne Baxter, William Eythe, Michael O'Shea, Vincent Price, Ruth Nelson, Ray Collins, Harry Morgan, and Joven E. There is paper loss in Baxter's image at center that has been crudely repaired with paper and tape from the front and back of the poster. There is a snipe in the background at upper right.
