Date Sold 9/1/2024 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 100 unfolded Belgian reproduction posters from How to Marry a Millionaire, the 1953 Jean Negulesco New York City romantic gold digger comedy ("The Most Glamorous Entertainment Of Your Lifetime in CinemaScope, You See it Without Glasses!"; "Based on Plays by Zoe Akins and Dale Eunson and Katherine Albert"; about three beautiful but poor young women who come to New York City and rent a very expensive apartment, intending to each find a millionaire husband before the rent is due!; the movie was the first ever filmed in the new CinemaScope process, although "The Robe" beat it to the screen) starring Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall, David Wayne, Rory Calhoun, Cameron Mitchell, Alex D'Arcy, Fred Clark, and William Powell. Measurements: 16" x 20"Note that this poster is a REPRODUCTION and is not an original poster and it measures larger than the original poster. But it is higher quality than the vast majority of reproductions! It was one of a set of 10 that was created in the 1990s by a man in the movie business and they measure 16" x 20". Each of those were printed on a higher quality thicker paper stock than "regular" Belgian posters, and the printing quality is quite nice (see our image). When they were made, they retailed for $25 each, or $200 for the set of 10. Over the past few years, we have auctioned some of these as sets and some of these as singles, and the buyers of those often resell them on eBay or Facebook for much higher amounts. NOW, THE CONSIGNOR OF THESE WANTS US TO AUCTION THESE IN LARGE QUANTITIES OF EACH, AND WE ARE AUCTIONING 100 OF EACH OF THE 10 REPROS (in 10 separate auctions), AND THERE WILL BE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE WINNING BIDDERS TO MAKE A LOT OF PROFIT RESELLING THESE! IMPORTANT! The lot contains multiple examples of the same poster, so we have only pictured one (as well as the front and back of the envelope they are all in), but the winner of this auction receives all of them! Condition: very good to fine. We have only pictured one of the REPRODUCTIONS , but all of them are in similar condition.
