One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Riding with Buffalo Bill, the 1954 Spencer Gordon Bennet cowboy western serial ("Champion of the Roaring West!"; "History's most famous frontier fight!"; "See the latest chapter"; "A Columbia Super-Serial"; "History's greatest plainsman!"; "Ripping, gripping serial action!"; "Thundering across the screen!") starring Marshall Reed (in the title role "as Bill Cody"), Rick Vallin, Joanne Rio, Shirley Whitney, and Jack Ingram NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Glenn Cravath Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the folds. It had a 1" teardrop-shaped area of paper loss at top center, extending into the cowboy's shoulder (see our image). It had pinholes, tears, and some paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
