An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

Gallant Sons, the 1940 George B. Seitz romantic juvenile amateur-detectives murder mystery crime thriller ("The Season's Most Unusual Dramatic and Romantic Mystery!"; about the son of a gambler who is arrested for murder, and he and his teenage friends get together to clear the boy's father, because the police can't, and one of the kids is pretty Bonita Granville, the only female in the group) starring Jackie Cooper, Bonita Granville, Gene Reynolds, Gail Patrick, Ian Hunter, June Preisser, Leo Gorcey (in a rare non-Bowery Boys/Dead End Kids role!), William Tracy, and El Brendel. Note that there is an unusual plot element, where the kids get together and put on an amateur production of "Hamlet" in front of the person they think is the actual murderer, hoping that watching the play will trigger his guilty conscience and cause him to confess!

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this window card! Also note that the card measures very slightly under 14" x 22" (an extremely tiny amount in each direction!) and has no left, right, or bottom blank borders, but it has NOT been trimmed (this was done at a time when MGM was experimenting with having as few borders as possible). Also note that because this card has significant defects, we also pictured the back, because that better helps bidders know exactly what those defects are.
