An Original Vintage Unfolded German Stage Play Poster (measures 23 1/2" x 33" [60 x 84 cm]) (Learn More)

Aida, the 1973 German musical opera stage play production (of Giuseppe Verdi's classic opera) which was held in September at the Opernhaus Theater in Kiel, Germany. Note that this poster features Holger Matthies art of hands emerging from stone. Holger Matthies is a German graphic artist from the 1970s to the present. Over the course of more than four decades, he has designed more than 1000 posters, making him one of the world's most prolific poster artists. He is best known for his designs for theater and opera productions, exhibitions, concerts, and political satire shows. His portfolio is further swelled by social and political posters, cover designs for magazines and books, as well as numerous LP and CD covers. He has said that, "Posters should be like pocket knives - spring open, dissect and get under the skin."
