Hunting-Clan Air Transport was a wholly private, British independent airline that was founded in 1945 as Hunting Air Travel Ltd. Hunting-Clan's operations included all-economy Safari "colonial coach class" services to East, Central, Southern and West Africa, as well as similar operations to Gibraltar. It utilized single-class 27-seat Vikings, which took three days to complete the journey. This service proved to be so popular that a second weekly frequency was eventually added. In 1960, Hunting-Clan Air Transport merged with the Airwork group to form British United Airways

Important Added Info: Note that this is an English travel poster created by the Hunting-Clan Air Transport company to advertise their economical trips to Africa ("leisurely flying by safari colonial coach class service - within your reach too"). Apparently, they were such a well known airline that they didn't even need to put their name on the poster!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had a 3" tear in the top border, with two smaller tears to the right of it, and there was bleed-through from tape that had been put on the back of the tears. It had pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster onto a thin linen "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
