He was best known as the leader of the Three Stooges, the farce comedy team who starred in motion pictures and television for four decades. Moe's distinctive hairstyle came about when he was a boy and cut off his curls with a pair of scissors, producing a ragged shape approximating a bowl cut. He starred in over 190 Three Stooges short films and full-length movies. He passed away in 1975 at the age of 77. Note that this is one of a wonderful collection of 36 items that were assembled by a collector decades ago, mostly from RR Auctions, which has auctioned signed items since 1976. The person who purchased these items passed away several years ago, and while he did not save most of the certificates of authenticity he received when he bought these signed items, almost all were purchased between the late 1970s and the early 1990s, and we think it is extremely likely that the autograph on this item is genuine.
