Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime mystery thriller ("It's a web of romance and suspense that spins you from delight to danger - then spirals to an explosive climax on the fabulous Riviera!"; "Based on the novel by David Dodge"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a retired jewel thief living on the Riviera, and there is a string of daring jewel robberies, so naturally, he is the lead suspect, and he decides to find the true thief himself, and he is aided by a beautiful rich young woman and her mother!) starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel, Brigitte Auber, Rene Blancard, Georgette Anys, and Jean Martinelli. Note that Cary Grant had announced his retirement from movies in 1953, but he was lured out of retirement by Hitchcock to make this one. Also note that Jessie Royce Landis, who had played Grant's mother in "North by Northwest", this time played his potential mother-in-law, and yet, she was only eight years older than Grant, who had aged very well! Important Added Info: Note that the back of the poster is stamped with an NSS number of "63-270" because this poster was re-used to advertise the 1963 re-release of the film. We are 100% sure that this poster is an original from 1955! Condition: very good. tiny tears at the middle crossfold as well as along the left of the bottom horizontal fold and minor separation at the bottom crossfold; minor creases and smudges along the foldlines and around the edges of the poster; tape stain in the lower right blank border; a few tack holes around the edges of the poster including some in the upper left and right in the edge of the blue background. The poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound. The defects are really very minor, and the poster has a somewhat "crisp" feel to it. If it were linenbacked, its minor defects would vanish and the poster would look wonderful! Learn More about condition grades
