An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Farornas O. (released in the U.S. in 1932 as "Island of Perils"), the 1930 Sten Nordenskiold (sometimes billed as "Captain Sten De Nordenskold") Swedish Faroe Islands North Atlantic travelogue adventure expedition nature documentary ("Where life holds thrills beyond description"; produced by Sol Lesser) featuring Sten Nordenskiold, Johann Hentze (a local expert on the islands), and narrated by Walter Anthony (for the English-language version). Note that this documentary shows life on the Faroe Islands (an archipelago that is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, located about half-way between Iceland and Norway), including whaling, local wildlife, sheep shearing and a wedding ceremony. Nordenskiold was a Swedish director and cinematographer who worked on several documentaries from the 1930s to the 1960s. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. The poster has separation and paper loss in the upper crossfold and upper vertical foldline that makes it slightly fragile. It has pinholes along portions of the edges and some creases in a few areas. Certainly the rare poster could be restored and linenbacked and it would look great, but please bear in mind its defects and cost of restoration before placing a bid.
