Date Sold 12/1/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Wasp Woman, the classic 1959 Roger Corman giant bug insect science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("A beautiful woman by day - a lusting queen wasp by night!"; "See: Strong men forced to satisfy a passion no human knows!"; "See: A beautiful woman by day - a lusting queen wasp by night!"; "Written by Leo Gordon") starring Susan Cabot (in the title role as the wasp woman), Fred Eisley, Barboura Morris, William Roerick, and Michael Mark. Note that this movie was guilty of one of the most blatant cases of "false advertising" in an industry filled with unfulfilled promises! The posters and the title card for this movie shows a giant wasp with a woman's head, while the movie delivers a normal-sized woman with a really fake looking wasp head! Also, note that Susan Cabot had a very interesting life, as you can see by clicking on her biography link above. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there are few complete sets left intact from this classic 1950s sci-fi movie, because the vast majority of them were "broken up" and sold by the card. This is a very rare opportunity to purchase the entire set at one time! Condition: very good. All of the cards have darkened very slightly. The #7 card has surface paper loss in the top center. The #4 card has a tape stain on the back of the center of the top border, and another on the back of the left of the top border, and both those tape stains have slightly bled through to the front (there is a similar situation with the #2 card, where there were once six pieces of tape on the back and two were removed and the others have slightly bled through to the front). That card also has surface paper loss on the back of the left and right of the bottom border, where some tape was removed. The #8 card has tiny pinholes in the corners. Other than the above defects, the cards are in pretty nice condition and other than the tape that was once on the back of the two cards, they have never had any sort of restoration. Please look closely at our super-sized images to get a good sense of the exact condition of each of these cards. Learn More about condition grades
