An Original Vintage Theatrical Laminated Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) An American in Paris, the 1951 Vincente Minnelli (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) France romantic love triangle musical comedy ("What a joy to see MGM's Color by Technicolor musical!"; "to the music of George Gershwin"; "Adventures of an ex-GI in the city of romance. Art Students' Ball biggest, most daring ever filmed. Screen's most spectacular musical!"; "Story and Screen Play by Alan Jay Lerner"; "Lyrics by Ira Gershwin"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Gene Kelly (in the title role), Leslie Caron (billed as "and introducing Leslie Caron"), Oscar Levant, Georges Guetary, and Nina Foch NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been laminated! It is quite likely that there is no way to reverse this process. However, I have seen many posters and lobby cards that have been laminated for over 20 years, and the lamination does not hurt the items in any way (and some of the posters were laminated as much as 40 years ago, so it certainly seems that if it were going to damage the item, it would have happened by now!), plus it seems to completely protect them, while allowing them to be easily displayed with no fear of damage. HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER UNLESS YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A LAMINATED ITEM! Condition: fair to good. The poster was folded once in each direction and had many creases scattered throughout, with a few smudges in the yellow background areas. It had smudges, small stains, and tears around the edges, and there were some tape repairs on the front and back of the borders. The poster was reused for a re-release, and the original NSS number has a line through it, and the re-release NSS number was written below it (but this is definitely an original 1951 poster!). Someone had the entire poster laminated (see above), without doing any restoration. PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER UNLESS YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A LAMINATED ITEM! Learn More about condition grades
