An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Man from Utah, the 1934 Robert N. Bradbury cowboy western ("Action on the Range and in the Rodeo") starring John Wayne, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Polly Ann Young (sister of Loretta Young, to whom she bore a striking resemblance!), Anita Campillo (billed as "Anita Compillo"), Edward Peil Sr., and Yakima Canutt NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, tiny tears, and some tiny areas of paper loss on several foldlines. There were pinholes, creases, smudges, and tears around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. It is very fortunate that the poster artist put John Wayne's head entirely to the right of the vertical foldline, so none of the minor foldline defects have any effect on his head (perhaps the artist planned it that way!). The poster was linenbacked many years ago, and you can see signs of the restoration along the foldlines. The poster displays pretty well just as it is, although you can see signs of the restoration in the blue background areas in the top of the poster. Of course, any talented restorer could re-back this poster, and after proper restoration, it would look wonderful, and there would be very little restoration in the poster, and next-to-none in Wayne's face and body. I have never seen another example of this poster, so if one were to wait for a better condition example to come along, one might end up waiting a VERY long time! Learn More about condition grades
